What to know about CSV → ASC

- An ASC point file is plain text with the X Y Z coordinates of one point per line.
- Points stay points: MeshInspector opens the cloud and exports it as .asc without building a mesh.

FAQ
Do I need an account to convert CSV to ASC?
No. The converter on this page is the MeshInspector web app running in your browser without sign-up. Click Open Files and pick your .csv file, select it in the scene list, click Export, choose .asc in the Extension list and click Save. The converted file downloads to your computer.
Is the CSV to ASC converter free?
Yes. Opening a .csv file and exporting it as .asc use free tools, here, in the web app and in the desktop app on the free Community plan. Paid plans add tools such as Mesh Healer and automatic repair; the Pricing page lists what each plan includes.
Are colors and units kept?
ASC stores only the coordinates of the points as plain text: no units, no mesh and, in its simple form, no colors. Check the scale of the points after conversion, and keep the source file if you need its colors, intensity or other attributes later.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit on this page, but the web app works within your browser's memory: up to about 4 GB, or 16 GB in browsers with 64-bit WebAssembly. For very large models, or many files, use the desktop app for Windows, macOS or Linux.
