AMV Consulting LLC, doing business as MeshInspector (“AMV,” “MeshInspector,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information associated with your use of MeshInspector.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit meshinspector.com, create or manage a MeshInspector account, use the MeshInspector desktop or web applications, purchase a subscription, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with MeshInspector products and services (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy does not govern third-party applications or services that you independently choose to connect to or use with MeshInspector.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with MeshInspector.

A. Account Information

When you create or use a MeshInspector account, we may collect information such as:

your name;
email address;
company or organization;
account and authentication identifiers;
subscription plan;
license and activation information;
account preferences; and
information associated with management of your account.

We use this information to create and administer accounts, authenticate users, provide licensed features, manage subscriptions, communicate with users, and secure the Services.

B. Billing and Subscription Information

If you purchase a paid MeshInspector plan, we and our payment service providers may process information necessary to complete and administer the transaction, including:

name;
company;
billing address;
transaction amount;
subscription information;
invoice information;
payment status; and
payment or transaction identifiers.

Payment card information may be collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processor. AMV generally does not need to retain complete payment card numbers.

C. Project Files, 3D Data, and CAD Conversion

MeshInspector is designed primarily to process 3D data locally.

Files such as meshes, point clouds, voxel data, images, and other supported project data opened in the MeshInspector desktop application are generally processed on your computer.

Files used in the MeshInspector web application are generally processed in your browser’s local memory.

MeshInspector does not automatically upload your ordinary mesh files, point clouds, voxel data, G-code, or other locally supported project files to AMV’s servers merely because you open or process them using MeshInspector.

CAD File Conversion

Certain CAD file formats, including STEP files and other CAD formats that require conversion before they can be displayed or processed by MeshInspector, may be temporarily transmitted to cloud-based conversion services.

These files are transmitted solely for the purpose of converting the CAD representation into a mesh or other format that MeshInspector can display or process.

CAD files submitted for conversion:

are used only to perform the requested conversion;
are not used for advertising, analytics, AI training, or unrelated product-development purposes;
are not retained in cloud storage after the conversion process is completed, except for temporary technical copies that may exist during processing; and
are not treated as a persistent cloud repository or backup of the user’s CAD files.

The converted result is returned to MeshInspector for use in the application.

AMV does not intentionally retain the original CAD file in its cloud environment after the conversion operation has completed.

If you voluntarily provide a project file to AMV for another purpose, such as a technical-support request, debugging request, product demonstration, or other communication, we may separately receive and process that file for the purpose for which you provided it.

You are responsible for determining whether files you choose to process using MeshInspector or voluntarily provide to AMV contain confidential information, personal information, protected health information, trade secrets, export-controlled information, or other regulated information and for complying with laws and contractual obligations applicable to that information.

D. Optional Product Usage Statistics

MeshInspector may offer an optional setting that permits AMV to collect limited usage information to help us understand how the application is used and improve its functionality and usability.

When enabled, this information may include:

which MeshInspector tools or features are used;
frequency of feature usage; and
the email address associated with the MeshInspector account for license association and account management.

Project files, geometry data, CAD file contents, and the contents of files being edited are not included in this usage-statistics collection.

You may disable collection of optional usage statistics through MeshInspector’s application settings.

After the setting is disabled, MeshInspector will stop transmitting new optional usage-statistics information.

We may create aggregated statistics from usage information to understand overall feature adoption, performance, and product usage.

E. Website and Technical Information

When you visit our websites or use online portions of the Services, we may automatically collect information such as:

IP address;
browser type;
operating system;
device information;
referring website;
pages visited;
dates and times of access;
session and interaction information;
cookie and advertising identifiers;
security events; and
server and application logs.

We use this information to operate and secure our websites, understand usage, improve performance, troubleshoot problems, measure marketing activities, and prevent abuse.

F. Communications and Support

When you contact us, request a demo, submit a form, subscribe to communications, or request technical support, we may collect:

name;
email address;
company;
phone number where provided;
message content;
support information;
diagnostic information you choose to provide; and
files or screenshots you voluntarily provide.

We may maintain business-contact and prospective-customer information in customer relationship management systems.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

provide and operate MeshInspector;
create and administer accounts;
authenticate users;
activate and validate licenses;
provide free, trial, and paid subscription plans;
process transactions;
convert supported CAD files into formats usable by MeshInspector;
provide customer and technical support;
respond to inquiries and demo requests;
communicate about accounts, subscriptions, security, updates, and new features;
understand how MeshInspector is used where usage statistics are enabled;
diagnose technical issues;
develop and improve MeshInspector;
maintain security and prevent fraud or abuse;
perform analytics and measure Website performance;
conduct marketing where permitted by applicable law;
comply with applicable legal obligations; and
establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.

We may also create aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual and use that information for analytics, product development, benchmarking, research, and other lawful business purposes.

Files transmitted for CAD conversion are not used to create such aggregated or de-identified datasets and are not used for AI or machine-learning training.

4. AI Assistants, MCP, and Third-Party Integrations

MeshInspector may support integrations or interfaces that allow users to control or interact with MeshInspector using third-party developer tools, automation systems, AI assistants, or Model Context Protocol (“MCP”) compatible applications.

Examples may include third-party tools provided by companies such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, GitHub, Cursor, and others.

AMV does not automatically send your MeshInspector project files to third-party AI providers merely because MeshInspector supports these integrations.

The cloud-based CAD conversion described above is a separate technical processing function and does not involve sending CAD files to general-purpose AI providers.

If you choose to connect MeshInspector to a third-party AI assistant, agent, application, plug-in, MCP client, or other external service, information you instruct that service or MeshInspector to exchange may be transmitted to that third party.

Your use of an independently provided third-party service is governed by that provider’s privacy policy, terms, and data practices.

AMV is not responsible for how an independent third party processes information that you choose to provide to it.

Users should carefully review the privacy and security practices of third-party integrations before enabling them, particularly when working with confidential, proprietary, personal, medical, or otherwise sensitive data.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our websites use cookies and similar technologies for purposes including:

essential website operation;
security;
remembering preferences;
analytics;
understanding Website usage;
measuring marketing effectiveness; and
advertising where permitted.

Non-essential cookies are subject to consent where required by applicable law.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose or make information available to third parties that provide services to us, including providers of:

cloud infrastructure;
CAD file conversion and compute infrastructure;
authentication and account services;
payment processing;
customer relationship management;
email and communications;
technical support;
website hosting;
security and monitoring;
analytics; and
marketing services.

Service providers involved in CAD conversion may temporarily process CAD files solely as necessary to complete the requested conversion. Such files are not provided to those service providers for their own independent use, marketing, advertising, or AI-model training.

Our service providers may process information only for authorized purposes and subject to applicable contractual or legal obligations.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or lawful governmental requests; investigate fraud or security incidents; enforce our agreements; protect our rights or the security of the Services; or protect the rights and safety of AMV, our customers, users, or others.

Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.

7. No Sale of Project Data

AMV does not sell MeshInspector project files, CAD files, geometry, or project data.

AMV does not disclose project files that we receive through CAD conversion, support, or other direct submissions to advertising companies, data brokers, or other parties for their own marketing purposes.

CAD files temporarily submitted for conversion are used only to perform the requested conversion and are not retained by AMV as a persistent cloud copy.

Our public website may use advertising or analytics technologies. Certain privacy laws may characterize some disclosures of website identifiers or browsing activity as a “sale,” “sharing,” or use for “targeted advertising,” even when no money is exchanged.

Where applicable law provides an opt-out right, you may exercise that right through our cookie controls, recognized browser preference signals, or by contacting us.

8. Marketing Communications

We may send business and product communications concerning MeshInspector, including information about features, releases, tutorials, events, promotions, and related products and services where permitted by law.

You may unsubscribe from promotional email communications using the unsubscribe mechanism contained in those messages.

We may continue to send non-promotional messages relating to accounts, subscriptions, security, transactions, technical support, and operation of the Services.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing the Services, administering accounts and subscriptions, complying with legal requirements, maintaining appropriate business records, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements.

Account and subscription information may be retained during the account relationship and for a reasonable period afterward.

Billing and transaction records may be retained as required by accounting, tax, and other laws.

Support communications and files voluntarily provided for support may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the issue and maintain appropriate technical or business records.

Usage-statistics information is retained only as reasonably necessary for product analytics and improvement.

CAD Conversion Files

CAD files temporarily transmitted to cloud infrastructure for conversion are not retained as persistent Customer files.

AMV is not intended to retain the original CAD file after the requested conversion has completed.

Temporary copies may exist for the limited duration necessary to receive, process, convert, transmit the result, and complete normal technical cleanup of the conversion environment.

The CAD conversion workflow is not intended to provide file storage, backup, archival, synchronization, or recovery services.

Deleted account or other business information may remain temporarily in system backups, disaster-recovery systems, security records, or logs until those records expire or are overwritten through normal retention processes.

Because other MeshInspector project files are ordinarily processed locally, AMV does not ordinarily possess server-side copies of the files you open and process in the application.

10. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and files temporarily processed by AMV against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction.

These safeguards may include:

encryption in transit;
encryption or other protection of cloud infrastructure where appropriate;
authentication controls;
access restrictions;
monitoring;
network security;
backups for applicable business systems;
employee confidentiality requirements;
vulnerability management; and
security policies and procedures.

CAD files transmitted for conversion are processed through cloud infrastructure for the limited purpose of performing the requested conversion.

No electronic system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their own devices, project files, account credentials, networks, and third-party integrations.

11. International Users and Data Transfers

MeshInspector is used by customers in the United States and internationally.

Personal information collected by AMV, and files temporarily transmitted for cloud-based CAD conversion, may be processed in the United States and other countries where AMV’s service providers operate.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use legally recognized transfer mechanisms as appropriate, which may include adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, approved data-transfer addenda, or other lawful mechanisms.

12. EEA and United Kingdom Privacy Rights

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar privacy laws apply, AMV generally acts as controller for account, billing, website, support, marketing, and optional telemetry information collected directly by AMV.

Where a user submits a CAD file containing personal information for conversion, AMV processes that information only for the limited technical purpose of performing the requested conversion.

Depending on the processing activity, our legal bases may include:

performance of a contract;
steps requested before entering into a contract;
legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving MeshInspector;
compliance with legal obligations; and
consent where required.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information; receive certain information in portable form; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

13. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have rights under applicable state privacy laws, which may include rights to:

access personal information;
correct inaccurate information;
request deletion;
obtain a portable copy of certain information;
opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising;
limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
use an authorized agent where permitted; and
appeal certain privacy-request decisions.

These rights are subject to applicable exemptions and limitations.

AMV does not unlawfully discriminate against individuals for exercising applicable privacy rights.

14. Global Privacy Control

Where required by applicable law, we recognize legally valid browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, for processing activities within the scope of those signals.

15. Children

MeshInspector is a professional software product and is not directed to children.

We do not knowingly solicit personal information through our websites or accounts from children who are below the age at which they may independently provide consent under applicable law.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to AMV without appropriate authorization, contact privacy@meshinspector.com.

16. Third-Party Websites

Our Services may link to third-party websites, package repositories, social-media platforms, YouTube, developer tools, plug-ins, applications, and other external services.

Those third parties operate under their own privacy policies and terms.

AMV is not responsible for privacy or security practices of independent third parties.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in MeshInspector, our business practices, technology, or applicable law.

We will update the Effective Date above when the Privacy Policy changes.

If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through our Website, application, email, or another appropriate method.
