How to Convert CTM to STL with MeshInspector Software

If you work with 3D geometry, file conversion is an essential part of your professional workflow. The MeshInspector program provides a fast, accurate, and user-friendly way to convert CTMs into STL format while preserving all geometry data. With a couple of clicks, you will export your project as a ready-to-use, single file.

1

Opening CTM Files

To start the CTM-to-STL conversion, launch MeshInspector. Once the interface is open, go to the ’Home’ tab and click ‘Open Files’ to upload your CTM model.

2

Browsing CTM Files

In the dialog window that you will see, locate your .ctm file. Select it and click Upload (or double-click its name). MeshInspector will load the file instantly.

3

Viewing CTM Files

After import, the CTM model appears, as a mesh, ready for further operations. Rotate, zoom, or inspect it from any angle to ensure it displays correctly.

4

Exporting Components

When your CTM object is ready for export, find it in the Scene Tree. Right-click the desired object and select ’Export’ to open the export dialog and prepare for STL output.

5

Combining for Export

If your CTM file contains several items, merge them. In the ’Scene Tree,’ select all elements, right-click, and choose ’Group.’ Then right-click the new group and select ’Combine Subtree.’

6

Setting STL Format

After clicking ‘Export,’ the Save File dialog will appear. Rename your file if needed and open the ‘Extension’ dropdown list. Choose .stl as your format. MeshInspector will then perform the CTM-to-STL conversion while preserving your structure and topology.

7

Inspecting the STL Size

Once exported, reopen your STL file in MeshInspector to verify its scale. Go to the ’Inspect’ tab and enable ’Bounding Box’ to display overall dimensions and confirm that proportions remain correct after conversion.

8

Adjusting the Size

If the STL file does not match your desired dimensions, use the ’Transform’ feature under ’Information.’ Move the Scale slider to resize the object. Once satisfied, confirm the adjustment.
